I’ve started a total of 3 blogs, with much wishful thinking, but then life gets in the way. Some days at work, I do absolutely nothing that I’ve planned, I’ve only reacted all day. For example, last week I had a beautiful plan to do some teacher observations, walk throughs, and a parent meeting. A child, one of our frequent flyers, was not in a good place, so I had a feeling I’d be called. So, I cancelled my observations. Again.
I didn’t get called as much as I thought I would, so I did have a chance to walk around, check in with some teachers and some of the students I’m working with, and check out the condition of our building. So it wasn’t wasted time, but none of it was anything that I could check off of my “to do list”.
A teacher who blogs and tweets frequently gave me some good advice. Blog to journal, not to share, she said. You will be glad that you did, and there’s no pressure. So I’m going to try again. If I’m followed and it helps, well then good. If not, I’ll have a place to reflect. Reflection, it turns out, is sometimes the best PD we can give ourselves.
